WHAT'S HAPPENING AT CARNIVAL!

Wheels of Change on Cowley Road

This year Cowley Road Carnival is part of a whole weekend of festival fun in Oxford, as Carnival joins together with Alice's Day for Festival Oxford, July 6 and 7.

On Sunday July 7, Carnival will be the city’s biggest and most inclusive summer party ... a celebration of the diverse communities of East Oxford.

Free and open to all, from midday 'til 7pm, Cowley Road and the surrounding streets will be filled with Carnival vibes and family fun.

The big highlight of Carnival is the Procession of schools and community groups who have spent weeks and months creating their colourful costumes and dance routines. The theme, 'Wheels of Change,' celebrates 100 years of car making in Oxford, William Morris and the Cowley car plant.  Supported by MINI Plant Oxford and Oxford University Museums, the procession will include the giant Nicaraguan puppet, Leonora, and her baby, celebrating Oxford's twin city of Leon.

For full details of what will be happening to the day, head over to our programme pages!

PRS for Music

PRS for Music licences the use of copyright music across the UK, giving businesses and organisations the legal permission they need to play the music they want. These licences ensure that music publishers, songwriters and composers are fairly rewarded with royalties so they can keep making music - and mean that we’re able to support music at events like this. For more information about PRS for Music or music licensing, visit www.prsformusic.comor call 0800 068 4828
