MINI Plant Oxford remains at the core of the East Oxford community having just announced that they are the main commercial sponsor of Carnival, Oxfordshire's most popular family fun day.
This year, Carnival in the Park will be taking place in South Park, Oxford, on the 5th July.
Oxford is a melting-pot of cultures, and East Oxford offers the most exciting, vibrant examples of the city's variety. East Oxford Action Charity, organisers of Carnival in the Park, chose the theme 'Home Grown' for this year's cultural celebration of diversity.
Showcasing a taste of the best of what Oxford has to offer, from Brazilian born capoeira to Jamaican jerk chicken; funky face painting and children's workshops; performances spanning dance, music and slam poetry; an enormous range of food, craft and charity stalls; and a procession featuring school and community groups, Carnival in the Park is a celebration of what East Oxford has to offer, nurturing what is unique, and what is precious.
MINI Plant Oxford is adding value to this rich mix and to the local community by supporting the event and enabling a range of family workshops in the Park on the day. MINI is also contributing to the local economy and rewarding their employees by offering them vouchers to spend at the wide range of food and drink stalls at Carnival, certain that some of the many cultures represented by their workforce will be reflected there.
East Oxford Action Charity Trustee, Paul Wolf, said: 'We are delighted that MINI Plant Oxford is supporting this important community event, and we look forward to welcoming MINI associates and their families, from Oxford and around the world, to East Oxford's biggest community celebration of all things home grown, with international roots.'
Dr Jürgen Hedrich, Managing Director, MINI Plant Oxford said: "We are proud to be supporting this event as Carnival continues to be a really important date in both Cowley and the region's calendar."
